Lost Remington mod 12a .22 stock screw

My neighbor brought me her Remington pump 22 model 12a and she lost the screw that holds the stock to the frame. I am guessing the size is 6 x 24 x 31/2". Is there anyone out there that knows the true size? Is this screw still available or should I check my local hardware store?

This was her grandfathers gun and she is interested in knowing when it was made. The serial number is 4781xx.

  Check www.e-gunparts.com, they show the stock bolt, no size listed, click on the modle # it will bring up the break down, click on the part to see if they have one. good luck

  check out oldguns.net . They have a search engine for the dates of manufacture of their guns.

  The rifle was made in about 1919.
