Twist on Muzzle Brake for SKS (not threaded)
I have a twist on muzzle brake for an SKS that utilizes the cleaning rod to lock it in place. I have seen others that are similar but use a set screw also. Mine does not have a set screw. Is there any potential danger in using the type I have?

I'd say it depends on how tight a fit on the barrel it has.
The purpose of the brake is to re-direct the escaping gases; those gases will do their best to unscrew your brake.
There are those who will tell you that even if it is a loose fit, or just drill a set screw hole, or just shoot the _____ thing; but since you asked-if it becomes misaligned a bullet will nick it.
This could just be annoying because you can't seem to hit stuff 50ft. away, or it could get dangerous in a hurry by blocking the bore as it twists itself off.
If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!0
