Golden State Firearms

I bought a rifle about a year and a half ago, and I can't find any info on it. It is a Golden State Firearms (Pasedena, CA) Santa Fe Model 1945 .3006 bolt action rifle. Any ideas as to age? If Golden State Firearms is still in biz? Vaule? Anything would be appriciated. Thanks.

  Golden State Firearms was a big surplus arms and militaria etc dealer located in Pasadena CA, from the 50's until 1966. It's hard to say what exactly your rifle is without at least a better description and/or good pictures.
  They sold a lot of different stuff under the "Santa Fe" name some was good quality some wasn't.

  Can't add much more than what the Snowman told you about the history of GSA. They were once a huge player in the firearms business but are now long gone. Most of their turn-bolt rifles used the standard Mauser action which came from the Spanish firm Santa Barbara. Back in the 1960's quite a few US companies imported complete rifles from Santa Barbara or the barreled actions which they then made into complete rifles once in this country. Fajen (now famous for gun stocks) was another of the many firms which did this. Values depend on fit, finish, quality of wood and many other factors- like condition. There is really no collector interest in these rifles, although they do make fine shooters and are still fine hunting guns today.
