Need help identifying a Japanese Arisaka

I just purchased a Japanese Arisaka rifle and need help identifying it. I believe it may be a very late Type 99 short rifle but I'm not sure. It has a 26" barrel, is 7.7 mm cal, has a fixed rear peep sight, crudely welded safety on the bolt back, NO finger grooves in the stock, a wooden buttplate that is nailed on, no provision for a cleaning rod, small type 38 style front barrel band with no screws or provisions for them on the side that would have screws holding it but has a bayonet lug, a large cross bolt through the stock at the receiver front, and a small straight bolt handle. The mum is ground and there is no other marking on top of the receiver. It has 1 vent hole. This rifle looks to be in original condition. The bolt matches. On the side of the stock is a Japanese symbol that if looked at sideways, looks like a 1.K inside of a circle along with the number 27 next to it. It appears to be a Nagoys arsenal made rifle by the symbol after the serial number. It appears to be in either group 8 or group 10 (worn) serial number458XX. It does have slots cut for the dust cover.

  You have a late war Type 99. Not a lot more I can tell you (such as series, arsenal) without examining it. Sounds like you have a good handle on it though.
