Make sure they are Tromix mags and not just Galil mags ... Galil mags are narrower and the feed angle is different, about 1/2 the time when chambering the bullet hits the back of the barrel and knocks the bullet back into the case ... but it will still chamber and fire, this can cause excessive pressures and "catastrophic" damage to the weapon and shooter.

I'm not aware of any 40 or 50 rounders made by Tromix but that doesn't mean they're aren't any ... I only know enough to be dangerous ... no claim to expert!

A good Valmet site is http://www.valmet-weapons.com/ ... they have pic's of various mags for Valmets and I believe Tony Tromix posts there occasionally

The correct magazine capacity for Valmet M76 rifles in .223 are 15 rounds and 30 rounds. Factory Valmet magazines have become rather hard to find and expensive. The use of Galil magazines in Valmets is not recommended for the reasons which Kimberkid outlined. They may work but there are risks involved and I feel the rifles (and you life)are too valuable to take any chances. The M76 was always one of my favorite of the AK varients and if you purchase the rifle I know you will be pleased with it.

I've determined that the .223 round won't even stay in this mag, so it is certainly not designed for this rifle - nor this caliber!
