Ithaca 4E Question
I am looking at an Ithaca 4E that is coming up for auction. The gun is described as origional but has a pachmayer recoil pad. Does anyone know for sure if this is origional or was it an add-on.

Don't know for sure, but if it's a Pachmayer pad, my money's on a replacement----and/or--- the stock has been shortened to accomodate the pad. Suggest you ask the seller about length of pull. 0 -
My thought as well. The stock hasn't been cut and the seller is not sure about the add on. He thinks it is origional. 0 -
A Pachmayer pad wasn't standard on the higher grade 4E. Ithaca had their own pad & logo design.
Saw some 4's, a 7, and a Knick' sometime ago. Took my breath away. Old fella wanted to sell them, but his wife wanted them to go to the family. Sad, because one of his nephews ripped him off on a very early 1911 Colt Commercial.
My earliest Ithaca is a 1892 Crass Grade.
Greatest shotgun maker IMHO.
