AR-15
What do you think about buying the Olympic .223 Plinker and then buying the free floating heavy stainless barrel upper for it. Do you think that would be a good investment?

I need some help before my father wraps his around a tree. He just got it back from colt today and the first round he fired jammed this is the same reason he sent it in. The shell will not extract but if you spray a little rem oil in it it will cycle through three or four rounds no problem but then jam again he has tried several different kinds of ammo same results maybe you guys can help because colt seems to think there is no problem with it and I know from personal experience there is. (brass ammo seems to work a little better but does the same thing just longer intervals) 0 -
I have a cav arms lower; it's not as solid feeling as some but it functions fine.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about Cavalry Arms weapons or receivers ... I've never seen one in real life ... only in, I think, the FAC catalog ... I can't say I've even heard anything about them ... in fact, I'm pretty sure that this thread is the only time I've heard mention of them outside of wherever it was I saw them advertised ... I've owned quite a few AR's ... the common A-B-C, (Armalite, Bushmaster and Colt) as well as Bohica, DPMS, Essential Arms, Eagle Arms, Olympic, PWA, Rock Island Armory and Sendra to name a few ... but I've never seen a Calvery Arms.
I'm getting ready to assemble a new shooter for Service Rifle compition, last week at our local show I picked up a Eagle Arms by Armalite ... I chose it for 3 reasons:
1. I know its Mil-Spec and I wont have any problems with other Mil-Spec parts fitting.
2. It has a fairly cool Logo (but not as cool as Bushmaster)
3. No one had a Bushmaster receiver and I wanted something NOW!
Have you tried asking over at www.ar15.com ... Since that board is all about AR's ... they might know something over there [:o)]
