Beretta 9000S
I just bought a NIB Beretta 9000S in 40 S & W - paid $425.00 which I think is a good price. I know zip about this gun. I usually stick to 1911s & Browning HP when it comes to semi autos, and plastic is usually a no go, but this thing just looks neat. Any opinions, negative as well as positive, of the gun?
I'm having a tough time finding mags - no Mecgar or Promags found for the 9000S. Does anyone have a source?

Any opinions on this gun in 40 S & W? I've handled but not shot. It does have a rather wide grip which is OK for me. 0 -
I hate mine. [V]
8" groups at 10 yards. Slide too small to get a decent grip on. Very stiff (might loosen up over time).

Yes, 8" groups at 10 yards, I LOVE mine, it's good enough for me to use as a carry gun every day. It's well built and has nice styling. It's actually more comfortable than carrying my H&K USP Compact because I carry under my shirt and sometimes the roughness of the hand grips irritates my side. the gun is small for a .40 but with the little magazine finger rest handles pretty well.
Just my .020 -
madmarc0, just curious, have you tried working that slide in a hurry to chamber a round, just practicing, not under any stress? I'm not criticizing your choice, it just doesn't work well for me. That little bitty slide sucks!
My Kel-Tec 40 has more recoil, but I'll take it over my Berreta 9000S for carry any day. And I can cut my group size almost in half at 10 yards!
No doubt about it being well built and pretty, but pretty doesn't keep you alive if it ain't fully functional, too. Just my 10 cents . . .

Well, I got it and now I have shot it. I don't know where the 8" groups are coming from. The first ten rounds I fired at ten yards were excellent. Five of the ten made one large ragged hole. It is very accurate for a small gun. Recoil is easy on the hands. Think I'll carry it for a while. 0 -
8"groups at 10 yards!?!?!?! And you like it better than your H and K?????
New gun??? No, honey, I've had it for years.0 -
No, the H&K is much more accurate and I like it better no doubt, but the 9000 is a nice carry gun, as far as chambering a round, I do that BEFORE I carry I keep one in the pipe at ALL times. My fault is that the H&K irritates my babysoft skin ( pun intended ) beacuse of the non slip serrations in the grip area. and I usually use a high ride holster under my shirt. 0 -
Forgot to mention, I am being taught right now by a tactical weapons expert to shoot under stress with both eyes open and that's where I am getting 8 inch groups. 0 -
It felt good in my hand which is important, The safety was stiff on the one that I looked at. Check this out www.handgunreviews.com 0
