Is there a good reference source for Luger serial numbers?
I was contacted by a lady wanting to sell her late fathers Lugers, she feels one of them is very valuable, has 2 magazines, a case and the officers name and service number on the holster. I have not looked at them yet, and she has very limited knowledge about fire arms. There are several other handguns listed in the estate, 8 Colts including a Python and a 1911 Gold Cup, but she feels this one Luger is the pick of the litter. Anyway, the two serial numbers for the Lugers are 8241 and 3444. I have no idea which one is which yet. If some one could lead me in the right direction it would be great. I won't get to look at them until next thursday, I'll take pictures and post them then. I'd like to have a little more knowledge befor I look at them, if thats possible.

Go to www.lugerforum.com they have guys that have been collecting Lugers for 30 years +. Be prepared to go into great detail, regarding the Luger. Preferably with pictures if you have them. They'll give you the straight skinny, all you possibly want to know about it! 0 -
I sold a carbine with the original case, magazines, cleaning rod, shoulder stock and with sling and loading tool for $17,000. If you are looking to sell it a dealer is going to pay less than an individual will offer. If you need the names and phone numbers of deales that may have an interest in the weapon check the latest listing of "Gun List". You will also find the value of these fine weapons listed in the "Blue Book of Gun Values". 0 -
