Colt Officers MK IV Series 80 Question

I have a Colt Officers MK IV Series 80 SS . My friend has the same Colt . Mine has a Flat Top Slide , his is rounded off . Why are the Slides differant ?

  usually this is an indication of a "non-glare" finish on the top of the slide to aide in aiming when its sunny outside. check your weapon to see if the slide is a dull finish on top as opposed to the other weapon.

  I believe the flat top slides were on the later "enhanced" models.

  The Gold Cups also had flat tops.
