    Flayderman dates them from 1863 to 1873.

    My data base says 1865-1873, with 2500-3000 made and most converted to cartridge between 1873-1888.

    Lawman; You might find this interesting.. There were FOUR Remington Revolvers made at the same time...The New Model Belt Revolver (Single Action} Caliber:.36. Barrel: 6 1/2" Octagon.Cylinder: 1 7/8" Long. 6 Shot, Rifling 5 Groove, Grips: Walnut, Varnished,also Pearl and Ivory Grips from the Factory.. Brass Trigger Guard, Front Sight "German Silver Blade" Not the POST..! Finish also came in Blued, Nickel Plated Frame, Full Nickel Plated; Specially Plated or Engraved on Order..Weight: 2lbs, 2 ounces...Markings--Top of Barrel: 'Patented Sept. 14, 1858. E.Remington $ Sons,Ilion,New York U.S.A. New Model'..:
    Dates of Manufacture; 1863-1888 Number manufactured; over 5000..

    Then there was the New Model Belt Revolver Double Action...
    {Not Applicable to this Discussion}But same dates of Manufacture but has Rider's Patent some Models Made..but some were marked with {standard New Model markings}...Over 5,000 made..Note...Some were fitted with Fluted Cylinder on special Order.....1863-1888

    Then comes the New Model Police Revolver [Single Action]..caliber .36: Barrel: 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 1/2" octagon Barrel..Cylinder was 1 5/8" Long..but only in Five Shot...Dates of Manufacture was 1863-1888 and over 8,000 made...

    And then comes the New Model Pocket Revolver (Single Action) in .31 caliber..1863 - 1888...over 17,000 made......
