model 70 .243

I recently acquired a Model 70 .243 Win. It has a beautiful engraved stock of an elk bugleing. I'm trying to determine its value.
I know it "could" be an earier model, but I'm not sure what serial number would determine this.

  It sounds to me like you have a rifle from winchesters custom shop. if the serial number is above 700,000 then it is a post-64. hope this helps.
