Kimber 84M Varmint 22-250?
Anybody got one? Held one today and was impressed by the fit and finish. I usually am not swayed by anything but performance on paper and varmints and I know what performance to expect on varmints from a 22-250!! What kind of accuracy are ya'll getting? Is it better than the 700 VSSF or the 112BSSF or? Or is the price tag for the fit and finish? My first choice to go with to try something new was the Howa Varminter with the laminated stock but this rifle caught my eye and my "feel"! Tell me what you know!! My building capabilities to build my own have ceased for the moment and I need another 22-250!!! GHD

im new to this board however i have been groundhog hunting for 28 years. i use a remington action with a custon 29 1/2 inch hart barrel on my 6mm and 22-250. the accuracy is unbelievable with handloads. the nice thing about the xtra heavy hart barrel on the 22-250 is that there is very little muzzle flip and you can see the bullet as it hits or misses. usually the 223 caliber is the cut-off point for above mentioned. im a firm supporter of hart barrels. i have shot none better and i have burned up enough barrels in my time. 0 -

A friend of mine has a Kimber. I shot it once and it was nice, but I can't say for sure if it was more accurate that my Ruger VT or a my Savage. Of course I had to put a better trigger and a Choate stock on the Savage. But he had not had the Kimber long and had not had a chance to work up a good load for it. Feel is important. If it feels better, then you will probably shoot better. I was going to get one of the Howas with the thumbhole stock, but I came into two used rifles from other friends and put it off for now. Too many guns out there and not enough money!!!

Got mine at XMAS GHD. aND BOY DO THEY FEAL GOOD. I've only worked up a couple of loads, been way to windy, cold and snowy. Looks like it'll be a 1/2" gun for sure, for me. I'm not as steady as I was back when, so maybe they're 1/4" guns?? I put a SHEPPARDS 3.5x10 on mine.
