Rechamber old barrel?

    Your throat is probably burned out. Unless you want to spend anywhere from $300-$500 for a re-barrel (which would shoot better) then I would just have your barrel cut and rechambered. Keep in mind your velocity will drop due to the shorter length.

    My gunsmith has some rifles with 9000 rounds through them and they have been shortened, rechambered and crowned several times over, and will still shoot 1/2" groups.[8D]

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Thanks JustC for the info. It's just got to be accurate enough to hit praire dogs.

    I think you can a new good quality barrel installed for a lot les than $300-500. I've seen several new take-off Remington varmint barrels for under $100. Another $100 to install.
