HEINRICH KRIEGHOFF BOLT ACTION
ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION ON A HEINRICH KRIEHOFF 30-06 MAUSER BOLT ACTION RIFLE, IT HAS A 26" BARREL WITH FLIP SIGHTS, AND A BROWNING TYPE ROUND KNOB PISTOL GRIP THAT IS CHECKERED, LOOKS LIKE A M-98 ACTION? SLING SWIVELS AND A PAD HAVE BEEN ADDED. ONLY OTHER MARKINGS ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE (*ST.M.G.). top of barrel reads HEINRICH KRIEGHOFF SUHL GERMANY, I sure could use your help on this matter anyone. I can only tell you a little bit about Krieghoff.
They make weapons for hunting and for sport, also especially tailored weapons are available.
They are good at making all sorts of O/U rifles (bochdobbelb?chse) and S/S rifles (dobbelb?chse) as well as all known variants of drillings with both one, two or even three riffelbarrels in the caliber you choose.
You can choose between all sorts of engravings, from the bare nothing to the upmost specially tailored high-end engraving with silver and gold inlays.
You are probably looking at something like a high end, pretty highprized rifle - made for someone who loves hunting and weapons.
It is surely something like a Holland & Holland, handcrafted all the way.
Krieghoff also makes rifle-barrels that you mount in any standard shotgun, double or single barrel shotgun. (not pump-action or semi-auto!!)
Those are made in calibers from .22 Hornet and up to cal. 6mm*70 R.

The Krieghoff Company has been located in Ulm/Donau Germany since the 1940's. After W W II, they left the area of Germany which was controlled by the Russians ( Thuringia ). The barrel address means that it probably dates at least the barrel prior to the Second World War.
My understanding is prior to the war they just used their initials and the "Sword & Anchor" Trade Mark on their products. This might date your barrel back as much as 70 years?0 -

The rifle you have is a Krieghoff standard bolt action magazine
rifle. Hienrich Krieghoff is a Rifle smith of a the highest order.The Company provides firearms of the highest quality. It may be based on a standard 98 Muaser action, IF it is an early production model. Later models, while still bearing a strong resemblence to the Mauser, are built on actions manufactured by Krieghoff in Suhl,Germany. Krieghoff bolt rifles are comparable to any high end Rifles. The quality of workmanship is first rate. Fit& Finish is excellent. Krieghoff Firearms are in every way, investment quality arms. Calibres range from the tiny .17 Bee to the huge safari grades, such as 458 Win. Mag and .500 Nitro. With the "Browning" style pistol grip stock, it sounds like one of the earlier Krieghoff models. Photos would be helpfull in pinning down Model, and age.0
