CZ52 grips

How do you get the damn things off? Also anyone out there replace theirs with some nice aftermarket ones that didn't cost a fortune? I like the Houge checkered wood, but I only paid $120 for the pistol. $100 for grips is just silly.

  To take the grips off a CZ-52 it would be helpful to have three hands. If, like the rest of us you have only two hands available try this: Rest the pistol in you right hand with the grip pointing up. Use a small screw driver to to lift up the edge of the retaining clip on either side of the grip and at the same time (if you can manage) insert a small punch into the hole at the rear of the clip. By pushing and proding the clip will fly off and the grip panels will be freed. As far as after market grips are concerned I can offer no advice for the inexpensive items which you seek.

  Rustoleum makes a textured finish spray paint that looks good on the factory grips. I used a grey granite finish on mine. The textured finish hides the scratches that are on nearly all of the origional grips.

  Check with Makarov.com, they should have some nice walnut grips at a reasonable price.

  Houge makes a set for about 45.00 out of cocabolo(sp)wood that fit great. I just sold a used pair of them on E-bay for 25.00

  Check Gunbroker under Grips, there are some CZ 52 grips listed, quality grips cost money and I have not seen any nice new CZ 52 grips under $50.00. Good luck.

  I'd really like some rubber ones, but Houge doesn't make 'em for the 52. Does anyone know if any of the other companies do?
