Uberti Revolver

Has anyone had any experiences with the Uberti .45LC Millenium
centerfire revolver from Cabela's? Gun-Tests Magazine states
it's a good deal. Looking for input. Thanks.

    I purchased a new 1860 colt .44, after cleaning all the gunk off of it I found the cylinder to be very lose. Has any one ran into this with the Uberti's, I thought they were to be better quality than that.

    Sir did you rap the wedge in and how loose is loose?.....forward and backward?....or up and down?....or the bolt to cylinder lock up notch.....there is a lot of play factored in these revolvers because of the black powder fouling.....You can't compare this weapon to a cartridge revolvers' 'tightness'......Out of all the Uberti revolvers(12) I own I've never gotten a dog.....how ever a Pieta revolver is a different story!.....best solution is go down to the gun shop or pawn shop and compare theirs or get with some of your shooting buddies and check out theirs.....BEST OF LUCK.......john......

    Do you mean it won't lock up tight? I mean, when it is cocked, can you wiggle the cylinder? Or, when the hammer is down, can you wiggle the cylinder? If you can, then you just have a loose gun.
    I know Ubertis have a good reputation, but sometimes they make a bad one. You might return it to the store. I bought a Pietta 1860 Army a month ago, under the Traditions label at Bass Pro Shop. Cost $150. This gun locks up tight as a drum. Plus, Bass Pro Shop will return it with no questions asked. Pietta quality has improved recently, you may find a Pietta to be better than a Uberti.

    The play in the cylinder is up and down or side to side, it does not matter if the hammer is cocked or at rest. I have a couple other revolvers and they are nothing like this. I did e-mail Uberti to see what they would do but have not received a reply back.

    Like Myra Lou says, if that barrel wedge is tight and it does that, you have a big problem. Return that pistol and try again.
    If you are near a Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop, it is good to go into the store and try the individual pistol and make sure it is tight before you buy. If you must resort to mail order, either Cabelas or Bass Pro will make a refund with no problem. Cabelas pistols are also Pietta, 1860 Army is $150 with them, too.
