    Kimber, hk is just ugly.

HK over the Kimber. Despite the ever reliable 1911 base, the HK has double action, decocking lever with positive trigger block safety, integral accessory rail, and weighs about 11 oz less than the Kimber.

BTW, any reason you're not looking at Sig 220 (my personal pick as well as that of armorers of several of the nation's special forces units)?

I tried the HK USP 45, I didn't care for it. Trigger was aweful compared to a 1911 (ok that's not saying much) and it really did not fit my hand. I had a couple failure to feeds with the HK, ofcourse you should expect that with a 1911. My biggest pet peave with the HK 45 was that it shot really low for me, off the paper low. Maybe the sights were too tall?

Had a guy come into the shop the other day saying his USP45 was such a Jam-a-matic that he's thinking about giving up autos for good and going back to revolvers. He did say it was accurate as heck though.

If you already have one Sig & are used to it why not get another. The 220 stainless steel gun is really nice.

Of the two you listed, the Sig 220 would be my choice.

Be sure to buy a steel lockbox, and bolt it to the house. If there were to be an accident, she'd never forgive you.

Go with the "loaded" Springfield 1911-A1 .45 cal. You will love it.
