    Greetings,
    Unfortunately any alteration reduces the "collector" value of any firearm considerably. The Winchester Model 75 was drilled and tapped for peep sights on the rear side of the recievers.
    Shoot it and enjoy the rifle they were fine, accurate 22's.

    Sir, to a true collector the extra holes do lower the value somewhat. How much depends on who you are dealing with. The holes on the barrel are for a scope block and are original. the holes at the back of the reciever on the left side are for a peep sight and the gun was originally equipped with Lyman peep sights if I remember correctly. They are nice rifles, I shot my way to Expert with one when I was in High school back in the early 60's.
