    Well 1st question comes to mind is, are these rifles a type 99 or 38. Basically if they are chambered for the 7.7, they are type 99 Arisakas. If the are chambered for the 6.5, then they are the type 38 Arisakas. The type 38 weapon were the earlier model, and tended to be made better(my opinion).Mr. rufe-snow has shown you a good link to find out the arsenal and dates. Not sure if you know it, but the ground Mum is a surrendered weapon, and the one with the Mum is a captured weapon. The carbines tend to go for more money. AND it seems the Japanese weapons are picking up in popularity! Good Luck with you auction! ...Mark
