UZI - Gold Plated Model
I have aquired an UZI, 9mm by IMI new in blue hard case with owners manual, extra barrel, large clip. It is all gold plated and tagged and tied. The tag says " number 34 of 100". Any idea what this is worth?

Is this an "UZI Carbine?" If so, is it a Model A or a Model B? If its not a carbine, is it a "Mini UZI Carbine?" If it isn't one of these, is it an "UZI Pistol?" Whatever it is, what is the lettering and marking on the gun?

It is an UZI Pistol, MFG by Action Arms,LTD. Phila., Pa. It says 9mm PARA, IMI Israel on one side. It is all gold plated, black grips, black barrel w/extra barrel and hi cap mag.

OKay, we are looking at a Pistol that has been "Gold Plated." Now, is there any type of "extra" information engraved, on or stamped into the gun to indicate what it is? When I ask this, you mention some sort of a tag with some information about it being one of what appears to have been 100 of these. Does it say "why" in any of the paperwork anywhere?
Back in the late 80's and early 90's, it was a practice of some companies to have a "run" of guns made with their own Company name or something similar to use for "Presentation Guns." To order them "gold plated" would be a nice touch, but there is no information I have regarding any particular "Factory" Commemorative Pistol. UZI wasn't very prone to manufacture such guns.....probably because most folks would have went to Smith & Wesson, Colt, Ruger, Beretta, etc., to get a "special run" of a Model Popular at the time.
There is only one exception to this for UZI and IMI. When the UZI Model A came to pass and Action Arms, LTd. began importation of this gun, there was "about" 100 guns imported that the factory had made in Nickel finish. These had "early" serial numbers, are hardly ever seen or offered for sale, and are mentioned in most pricing guides, but seldom do they have a value assigned to them. These guns are "valued" at what a deep pocketed Collector will pay for one.
I have seen a couple Pistols that were plated and "engraved" with a logo, company name, and "Presented to: .........., for (different reasons). Maybe this is what yours was destined to be. I know of no special value except that which someone might pay to own one such as this.

No other markings, no "logo's, no other engraving. It resembles a standard UZI. The tag only states " 34 of 100", and the pistol also is engraved with 34 of 100. Serial number is UP19554. The guy that owned this - and many other firearms - passed away and his widow has elected me to take them and "dispose" of them! It is entirely gold with exception of the barrel.

the only one i can find in my referance books is the AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION AMERICAN ARMED FORCES UZI COMMEMORATIVE issued in 1988. it had a furniture finished stock with an inset commemorative medallion. the run was limited to 1500, and made under special contract with IMI. perhaps they made other, more limited commemorative or presentation models. value on this one is about $1500.00. hope this helped. best regards, mike.

Thanks for all the help - this is the exact gun I have, only mine is #34. I appreciate all the help, I haven't had any guns since I was hunting as a teenager (long time ago!) and have aquired this 49 piece collection. Includes lots of pre ban stuff so will probably be seeking so more "free" advise. This forum is terrific!!
