Old Wood Box- cleaning gear ????

OK Guys here is a tough one , found an old well made wood box that looks like it might have been a gun box or used for gun cleaning gear , has what looks like a shelf ledge and some markings on a paper tab on the left inside corner it reads 260.013 H. below that 186804 G. and below that is 22903 W. all are hand written , brass hinges , key hole in the wood with no key of course and old style latches ( 2 ) , did some looking on the net , can not find anything like it so far , A LITTLE HELP to where I might find info would be great , photo's if you want to see it , 26-3/4 long , 7-1/4 wide , 2-1/8 deep , wood looks to be pine , but not sure......Thanks "C"
