goldenrod placement in safe
Wondering where I should put the heating unit in my safe. I was thinking I'd put it on the floor, right at the back where there's a gap between the where the rifle buttstocks touch the floor and inside of the safe's back wall.
Does it matter if the rod touches the carpeting or some of the felt/cloth cases a few of the guns are in? The unit doesn't get that hot but was a little warmer than I'd expected it to be.

I screwed mine into the wall in the back. It won't hurt to touch the carpet, they don't get hot enough to burn anything. I also keep a container of mositure beads on either side of the door.
I'm a man,....but I can change,.....If I have to,......I guess.0 -
I got sick of the space mine takes up so I built a secont wooden floor over the rod with a lot of holes and gaps in it to allow air circulation.

Here's what I did: I 'borrowed' a small piece of velcro (with adhesive) from work and put it on the back side of the plastic clips for the heating rod. Perfect! I just put it up against the back wall, about an inch or two off the floor and I can move it around anywhere I want in the future. 0
