You need to tell me the guage, barrel length and choke. It's probably a 12 but the 20's are usually worth twice what a twelve is. A 20 guage 31 is really a sweet gun and the equal to a model 12 in my opinion. OK here's " my free, rough estimate " probably $250 for a really good 12 ga. 31, $275 in 16 ga, and a 20ga $400+ . This is assuming excellent condition. Model 31's just don't have the following of a Winchester model 12.

OK you are lucky that it's a 20 guage. I don't have my blue book with me but I imagine since they were made from 1931 - 1949 that yours is at the end of the line. I would insure it for $500 because the 20's are most desirable. It probably weighs in at 6 pounds or less.

If you care to know the date of manufacture for your model 31, look on the barrel near the receiver. You will find some letters stamped that will be something like K G or A RR. This will be the code for the month and year the gun was made. Post the code here and I or someone will provide you the year and month.
