    Hopkins & Allen made a whole bunch of spur-trigger revolvers with exciting names like 'Blue Jacket' and 'Dictator.' Most I have seen have been in .38 rimfire and .32 rimfire.

    There are a small subset of collectors who like this type of pistol, but values are still relatively low. Like $75-$100 in typical condition.

    Thanks I had read that there were only around 5000 of these made it was a very rare looking pistol so I thought I would ask the experts to see what the value may be
    Thanks Gary

    The 2003 Standard Catalog of Firearms places it's value at:

    Fair = $375
    Good = $800

    What would be a fair starting price for this pistol. The chrome plating is starting to come off from one side and the whole gun has a few dings here and there, it has a 4 inch barrel and is tight for a gun this old it will shoot either the 32 short or long rimfires.The gun shoots real well and is a 5 shot, overall it probably would be fair cond. It is single action
    Thanks Gary

    You need to remember that there are TWO Hopkins & Allen 'Dictator' models. One is the .36 percussion or .38 rimfire, with 5-shot cylinder and BLUE finish. This is the one worth $100 - $850 in the book you are quoting.

    The other 'Dictator' is a spur-trigger revolver in .32 rimfire, nickel finish, worth $75-$100. If in pristine condition, I've seen them bring $300.
