2 3/4" or 3" Shotshells?

I sold an old Harrington & Richardson Model 121 20 Ga bolt action shotgun. The buyer would like to know if it will handle 3" shotshells.
I can't find the shotgun listed in any of my books. Need help.

  A-37, if in doubt, dont try it. If its an "old" gun, it was likely made before the advent of 3" shells. It should say on the barrel what length shells it can handle. If it does not, then stick to 2 3/4" only

  A-37 ..I've been shooting 20ga for longer then I care to state! BUT every 20ga the was made by the factory to handle 3" mag had that stamped on the factory barrel. Hope this helps ...Mark
