Browning HP hammer problem

    the problem you described sounds like the the hammer is worn pretty well or possibly the sear is worn. not a problem for a gunsmith to repair.

    Most likely, some ignorant "gunsmith" tried to improve the trigger pull, and went too far. Replace the hammer and sear, or recut the surfaces, but that will probably put you through the hard surface and the resulting surfaces will not last as long as if original and uncut.
