Reloading problem:
I took 150 rounds of .44mag. apart due to impropper powder charge (don't ask).
My problem now is that when I reassemble the rounds, the bullets (already crimped once) drop into the casing .010" - .020 further than
MOL. The rounds now consist of: 10.7 grains of Unique powder, 240 grain lead bullets. The book calls for max. OL 1.610" and
Min. OL 1.600". My OL is 1.580" - 1.590".

I am not for sure but I think that you are going to have to start from scratch on reloading these cartridges, as in removing primers, sizing, etc. It should bring the brass down to size to accept the bullets again.

It depends on your sizing die. If you can remove the depriming pin, you can go ahead and resize w/o depriming. You might try to slightly "neck" size the brass w/o the depriming assembly but most magnum loads need a firm bullet pull.

you must resize the cases and repeat some of your loading steps. these rounds are okay to shoot with your current OL, but to be safe i would recycle them to meet the minimum standard OL listed in your guide. short rounds are generaly okay to fire. longer then OL rounds may not function correctly, or may not allow the gun to cycle/ cylinder to revolve. better to be safe then sorry. best regards, mike.

As bad as I hate to say it, skinflint58's posting is probably the best that has hit the deck. "Heck, why not just throw it all away and start with new. It's only 150 rds. Then everything will be correct and safe."

If you have more money than time,then yes,throw em out.
However,that would be a waste of good compnents .I'd remove my decappera and adjust the die for neck sizing only.ONly the neck has expanded due to the bullet being seat in there.If this is worst mistake you make reloading,consider yourself lucky.0 -

I will be removing the decapping pin and resizing the cases. The weather in Milwaukee is just right to do this. Cold and snow...
As far as throwing the lot out, I'm a Swede, we even straighten nails to reuse!

Here is two more cents worth. Resize the cases without the decapping pin as suggested. Just remember that straight wall pistol cases are then expanded slightly to accept the bullet. The pulled bullets should be ok to use and resizing and re-expanding the cases will let you seat and crimp the bullets. 44s like a firm crimp to prevent the bullets moving foreward under recoil. Gook luck.

After I got done straightening nails, I pulled the bullets and resized the casings. When I reasembled the rounds, they were still too short. The bullets went back into the previous crimp groove.
SOLUTION: I changed the powder from Unique to Accurate #2. The Min. Overall Length for the Unique is 1.600", the Min. Overall Length for Accurate #2 is 1.560". My shortest round is 1.560" and the average is 1.580".
Now I feel safe using these rounds.
I hope no one else runs into this problem, but if you do, check the book for another powder that will give you a shorter Min. Overall Length.

Don't feel too bad.
It's only 150 rounds. I shouldn't tell this on myself, but I loaded some 9mm lead bullets too long. 1500 of them!!Whem I tried to seat them deeper, the crimp shaved some lead. They wouldn't chamber.
I looked at them for several weeks, trying to deccide whether to throw them away o, or break them down. Finally, during an especially cold spell, I had nothing to do. I broke them down, resized them without the de-capper, and reloaded. Rest assured I won't do that again....0
