Inquiring about a Mossberg

I have a .22 caliber 1930's Mossberg target rifle (of course no serial number). It has a 28" barrel with a micrometer receiver peep sight. It is in great condition and has been stored since 1940. Any idea of a value on this? Thanks.

  From what I could dig up on the Mossberg web-site, they did not always put a serial number on their rifles between 1930 and 1968. BUT I checked the rifle again and under the Mossberg logo is: NO.43 22LR patent pend. I see no other markings anywhere. Thanks!

  If it's 43 (Not 43B) 43B is the same has a Lyman 57 Peep Sight selectice Aperture and Globe 17A front sight. I don't know what front sight is on the 43 but rear is Lyman.
  The 43 was made 1937-38 the B 38-39 Both have a Heavy Barrel

  the Model 43 is one of the rarest Mossbergs; only approx. 1000 were made over a 2 year period. Check Vic Havlin's book, "Mossberg- more gun for the money". I have 2 model 43's, and they are great shooters.
  They did come with Lyman peep and front sights as standard equipment.
