A FRIEND HAS AN OLD WESTERN FIELD 30-06 AND IT NEEDS A NEW FLOOR PLATE AND TRIGGER GUARD. I KNOW MONT. WARDS SOLD IT ORIGINALLY, BUT I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHO HAS PARTS FOR IT. IM SURE IT WAS MANUFACTURED BY ONE OF THE MAINSTREAM GUN COMPANIES, I JUST DONT KNOW WHICH ONE. ANY IDEAS? IF ANYONE NEEDS THE S/N, I'LL POST IT LATER.

The Western Field hipower bolt rifles from the early 1960's were built on a model 98 mauser receiver that was produced by FN in Belgium. I don't know what company assembled them into complete rifles. FN produced these actions that were used by many companies to build rifles from. Browning being the most well known. If your rifle is built on the model 98 receiver, gunparts corp should be able to provide the floorplate and triggerguard. If you also need a magazine spring and follower, be sure and mention that as it may not come with the floorplate unless ordered. 0 -
The Blue Book and Gun Parts Corp both have cross over lists to tell you who the maker was and what the underlying model is. Then you can look for the part from the maker if they are still in business. Try www.gunpartscorp.com 0 -
