I am looking at buying an A5 and have found one I am interested in buying. The gun was bought in 1999 and the owner says not sure if belgium or jap so I will assume that it is a jap, the gun has a 26" barrel with the 3 chokes that came with the gun and is in excellent condition. It is also the magnum capable of shooting the 3" shells and the pistol grip on the wood stock is rounded. I live in the Houston,TX area and will have to have the gun shipped from LA. How much do yall think a fair price would be for this particular gun. Thanks, Joe.

We'll assume it is a plain barrel, no rib. It is definitely a buyer's market on Belgian A-5's. You'll see them offered at $500-$600 with little movement. I would think $350-$450 in the condition you describe is realistic.

Black_Guns is right on the money. It's a shooter only and will struggle to beat the $350.00 mark unless much nicer than described.

The Light 12 did not come into production until 1952. If you are correct in the date of production, your auto 5 is a standard weight and worth a little less than the above posts suggest.
