20 ga. question

Do the newer 20 ga. have their own frame size or are the companies simply putting the smaller barrel on a 12 ga. frame? I'm asking about pumps and autos.

  I have a Remington 1100 Lt. 20 and the reciever for it is a little smaller in width as well as height, than my Remington 1187.

  duckhunter I was curious about any of the big names Remington, Mossberg, Winchester, Browning...

  On Remingtons at least, a 20 gauge is a 12 gauge frame unless it is the 20LT (lightweight) model, as GotDeere has. This is for the 1100 for sure, but I'm not sure about the other models.
