.41 or .45 calibure
I am looking to buy another gun, I have right now a .357 that I love.
I am now looking into a .45 or .41 calibure I have looked into both of these but only shot a .45 never a .41. I am looking for some info and some opinions on wich one I should get(And pleases don't say both of them).
Beaware of your suroundings at all times.

When you say .45 you are talking about the .45LC and not the .45ACP correct? If this is the case Bigger is better. If you are thinging of handgun hunting then you wil have to reload to get the 45LC up to hunting load or purchase some very exspensive ammo. The 44mag is in between the two you are looking at. The 44 mag has alot more factory loads and the 44 special. You may want to look at this round as well. My 2 cents [8D]

Sorry i was talking about the .45acp 0 -
.41 Mag. In a Ruger Redhawk if you can find one at a reasonable price.

I would put the .45acp and the 41mag in a mixed fruit catagory. The .45acp can be loaded to 10mm specs in the right gun. The 41mag has it over the .45acp on the power chart. The 45acp is a great defensive round. The 41mag was developed as the ultimate law enforcment round. It never made it because of the recoil. I have owned both and still own a .45acp. My 2 cents [8D]

Its really a question of what you are intending to use it for.If you intend to use it for self Defense,I would say the .45acp.If your looking for a gun to take when you hit the trail or to hunt with,I would choose the .41 Mag.HTH
Best!!

There is another option in a large bore auto-pistol cartridge.....40 S&W. It comes very close to .45ACP in stopping power. 0 -
If you are looking for a hunting pistol, go to the .41, it is the BEST handgun hunting caliber - if you reload. If you want a target, carry, self-defense handgun, go to a good 1911A1 in .45ACP.
