Western Arms--long range double??
Does the Western Arms double use the same locking system as the Ithaca NID?How do they compare, quality wise?I found a 16 ga. in near new cond. that i am considering buying. The price seems very reasonable. 400.Are they decent shotguns? Thanks.

Western Arms was the cheaper version of the NID. Somewhat like a Stevens in being a very good cheap gun.
I don't really know what to say about the price of an almost new piece such as described, but here's an opinion... If the gun were present to me for sale, I'd have to look at what it really was (A utility gun). Then I'd have to look at what it was worth as either a collector or shooter. Last, I'd look at possible appreciation over time.
And right after I'd done all this, I'd go find me a nice L.C.Smith for a few hundred dollars more.
