Whats your apinion on this rifle. Are we asking for problems buying a pump ? Looking for a elk rifle for my son and cant spend to much.
He is left handed and we found this rem. 760 pump 30-06 for 329.00
and the gun is 98% Are there problems with jamming or wearing etc ?0 -

My dad took 2 elk with his 760 Gamemaster which still downs big game after 30 years. The 760's are generally excellent and reliable rifles. Younger shooter sometimes will short stroke the slide action not fully ejecting the spent round and can induce a jam (operator error) would be the only thing that I can think of. The 760 was once touted as the fastest manually reloading rifle because of it's pump action design...........fastest or not it will give a consistant sight on target between shots.
Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.<BR>0 -
Dozer, I was given a 760 bdl 30-06 by my dad when I was 14, I am 40 now...Killed alot of PA whitetail with it.. I still have it and it works just as good now as it did 26 years ago...I have shot hand load as well as factory ammo threw it as with no problems...I think you will be very satisfied with the purchase...
