12 ga. Hammer gun

I have recently aquired a 12 ga. hammer gun I would like so info on. The gun is marked Jenson Sons & Co, The Inmer Changeable, Belgium Fine Twist Finish. This gun has double triggers and 28" bbl. Can anybody identify the manufacturer and date of manufacture? Where was it made? Any value? Gun is approximately 85% over all condition. Thanks to all replies.

  Jensen is a common name and is most probably the manufacturer of your gun. Find the "ELG" under the barrels and you'll then know what I already do...
  
  An inexpensive utility gun made in Belgium somewhere in the period from about 1890 to WW1. Fine Twist is one of the least expensive methods of damascus construction. It makes your gun patently unsafe with smokeless powder loads and questionable even with black powder charges.
  
  Collector interest is low and value is not as a gun. Rather, it's somewhat prized as a mantle decoration and will bring anywhere from almost nothing on up to perhaps $200.00. But don't hold out for the upper price as it doesn't often happen.

  you realy have 3 options.
  1. hang the gun over the fireplace and admire it.(i, myself, and many others here on GB have purchased or inherited a belgium guild gun, and use it in this manner)
  2. sell the gun to someone who is interested in it for the above reason, or who needs the parts.
  3. have the gun completely dissasembled and inspected by a certified, experianced, and compatent gunsmith. if he judges the gun, and uts underlying structure to be sound, have the BBL`s sleeved or briley tubed to a lesser gauge. this would allow you to use the piece in the field safely. the downside is that this is very expensive to have done($700.00 minimum for parts and labor).
  
  CAPTAIN KIRK and NORD are 100 percent correct in there assesment. if you remove the forearm and dismount the BBL`s you will find a large grouping of proof and makers markings. hope we were helpful. best regards, mike.
