CZ Handguns

Does anyone have any experience with CZ handguns? I am looking at a 40 cal. The Magnum Research Baby Eagle is a copy of these and seem to cost more. Which is prefered?

  I hear the CZ40 was actually designed in part by Colt. I haven't owned any CZ pistols but I've shot a few, guns seem to be very accurate.

  I bought a CZ 75 BD 9mm Luger 3 months ago. Since then it has fired about 1000 rounds with no problems. I would recommend it to anyone for a sporting pistol.

  Watching thousands of guns come thru our training you get an eye for the good, bad and mediocre. The CZ guns have slowly but very convincingly proven a very high degree of reliability. Made by various firms I haven't seen one I didn't like and so far NO problems with them. NONE. The gun and various designs are slowlsy but very deservidly earning a top reputation. I had an older CZ-70 in .32 ACP. Flawless operation and very well madse. The CZ-52 is another gem for the money.

  The cz-75 pistol has been copied by at least 6 different firms that I know of. If imitation is an indication, they are excellent guns. I have 2 75's in 9mm, not a complaint about either. Many, many thousands of rounds later, not problems. Make sure you buy Oem magazines for them as anytime there is a problem it is junk mags. EAA and MR mags fit. Mecgar mags would be first choice. Pro-mags are OK, but I wouldn't trust my life with them.

  CZ's are hard to beat where quality and price are concerned. A friend of mine has one and it's never given him any grief.

  I have had CZ97B in .45auto for a year and a half. Excellent accuracy and reliabity at a great price. However, not exactly one to carry concealed because of size..............Hondo

  #1 most copied pistol in the world= Colt 1911. 91 birthdays.
  
  #2 most copied pistol in the world= CZ75. Only 27 birthdays.
  
  Must have something going for it to be #2 in only 27 years.
  
  Take some of the Colt 1911, and Browning Hi Power mix them together, and you have the platform, and fearures in a CZ75.
  
  Other that copying, Colt wasn't involved with the development.
