Baby Desert Eagle 9mm
I have a baby eagle in 9mm full size steel frame. I am having problems with it cycling. If I fully load the 10 round Mag it hangs up the last 1/4 to 1/8 of an inch when I drop the slide with the safety on about 75% of the time, and only about 5% if I load the mag with 9 rounds. I only use Federal or UMC brass fmj ammo. Has anyone else experienced this. It almost feels like the spring is weak yet I have only about 500 rounds through it. Anyone have any advice?

You said you have 500 rounds through it,when did the trouble arise? If they are reloads, try factory loaded ammo.If using factory ammo, only one brand?Try another brand. Is it a factory mag?Do you have more than one mag?If the mag is factory and you have more than one and it does it with both I would exclued that as the trouble.Strip the gun clean it,make sure the chamber isn't rough. If all that is fine change the recoil spring, use Wolff, factory or another quality one.CW

I think CWatson gave you excellent advice. Most such problems find their origin in (1) Ammo (2) Magazines (3) Springs. I would offer one more possibility--a rough feed ramp. Polishing the feed ramp might be the little extra that would make everything work. By the way--I've handled and fired only one Baby Eagle, but I was impressed. Good pistol.[^] 0 -
Thanks for the help I will try another brand of ammo first and then change the spring. The three mags I use with it are all factory and it does it with all of them. the polishing of the ramp is a good idea too I will try it. Thanks
