Questions for C&R holders
If I should get my C&R, How can it affect me if I apply to become an FFL dealer at a later date?
Can I import single pieces for my personal collection from out of the country with a C&R?
Thanks

Having a C&R does not permit importing weapons into the country. Having the C&R in theory would make it quicker to get your dealers FFL but that's all just theory.
Good luck!
Let's change the laws and quit bickering about them. One man CAN change the status quo.0 -
I have had both an FFL dealers license and a C&R for many years and the two do not effect each other in any way. The BATF considers each to be seperate and each application is evaluated independently. There are a number of advantages to having a C&R over a TYPE 1 FFL and it offers some extra flexability. Having a C&R will not allow you any special privelages when it comes to importing firearms. FFL dealers may make an "occasional" import and I have done this twice over the years. Keep in mind that surplus military firearms, even C&R items, can only be brought into the country by licensed importers- a TYPE 8 FFL. You are also prohibited from importing any National Firearms Act weapons, assault weapons, or "non sporting" firearms as well as handguns which do not meet the size restrictons of the Gun Control Act of 1968. What exactly do you want to import?

My main interest is single shot rifles mostly Rook guns and martini cadets. That's what I was wondering about importing. There are some real deals in Australia right now. Deals until you pay someone to bring them in for you. Then there is little advantage over buying here.
