I have a winchester mdl 94 30-30 it has what I would guess to be brass plating on the receiver and barrel bands . The barrel has "antlered game" stamped in it with gold letters. There is also a medallion in the stock that has an elk, caribou, moose and deer on it. My question is what is the value in good condition is is no ag08288 . There is some severe rust on the receiver back by the tang that goes to the stock so bad the plating is gone and metal is severly pitted. Is there any way to repair this damage the gun is unfired and otherwise in new condition.

Well, you certainly can have it repaired, but it won't be cheap.

And, it will NEVER be worth more than a standard Model 94 that has been abused in the same way.

I'd use it as a shooter, or sell it to someone who will.

Thats what I bought it for I am not a collector. Do you have any idea what it will take to repair it. Would a gunsmith be able to perform this repair? Thanks for any info.

THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE MISSING METAL (PITTING) IS TO WELD IT BACK IN, UNFORUNETLY THE M-94 YOU HAVE IS A CAST STEEL RECIEVER AND CANN'T BE WELDED.AS THE ABOVE POST SUGGESTED USE IT AS IS.
