I believe your "BUTLER" Deringer was made by a company who copied the Colt "Third Model Thuer Deringer" of 1870.
Production of your knock-off dates to the 1950's, and it is mostly made of zinc die-castings.
The original Third Model made during the 19th Century, was chambered in .41 rimfire and made with a Bronze Frame and Iron Barrel.
Starting in 1959 Colt sold the same one as you have as the "COLT DERINGER No. 4", Colt sold them until the early 1960's.
Production was continued after this without the Colt name on the Deringer.0
