7.62x39 ammo question
I was just wondering what the difference was (if any) between the 7.62x39 Chinese military fmj, steel core, ap ammo and the Norinco 7.62x39 fmj, steel core, ap ammo pre ban stuff that was going around in the early '90's. Both are copper washed and look identical to me...are these basically the same bullet? Any info would be greatly apreciated!!
Thanks,

Sir, I treat all ammo comming from Comunist and former Com Bloc countries as corrosive.....I don't care what it says on the boxes (wouldn't you ship out the old stuff for Yankee bucks!, think about it!).....I had a new Makarov and shot non-corrosive Chinese Norinco through it and cleaned it with hoppies and lubed the bore with breakfree....I pulled the bore 3 months later and the patch was rusty colored. Luck was with me the rifling was not pitted....You can say anything you want and I still shoot the com stuff....but treating it as such could save a very expensive weapon....BEST LUCK....JOHN.... 0 -
Thanks all for the input but I was meaning "difference" in the bullet more along the lines of penetration...sorry for not being more clear in my original post...thanks for everyones input.
