can anyone tell me if this will fit my 1917 eddystone and where to find one

  I believe that you may be referring to a Pedersen device which was made for the 1903 Springfields. These Springfields had a cutout for the device and were called 1903 Springfield Mark I. Most of the Pedersen devices were destroyed and finding one today would be difficult and the cost to purchase one extremely expensive. These devices were not made for the 1917 Enfield.

  sjc1 is correct. You can find the 1903 springields that have the Petterson device adoption. Some are considered collectors. All of the Petterson deivices were distroyed in San Antonio Texas. There is a history that can me read about the devices. My 2 cents [8D]

  should you find a pederson device- possible at a few specialty places but extremely unlikely- expect to pay $20,000 plus for it.

  SJCi is incorrect. The Pedersen device was indeed made for the 1917 Enfield. The receiver is stamped with a "Mark II",but these rifles are very rare. I would refer you to the book 'The Springfield 1903 Rifles' by Lt. Col. William S. Brophy, page No. 163. Jonk is correct. the last working Petersen device that I saw for sale about 10 years ago was also priced at $20,000 and that was without the magazine. Also the rifle that you are going to use it in would have to have the special cut off and the special trigger and sear in order to get the device to work.
