Is the kick terribly bad in a .308, I need a coyote/hog rifle, some targets. What is the accuracy like?

  Can anyone tell me something about the CETME or Federal HK clones? Are they worth $450(CETME)-$600(Fed) and what are the +/-? Anything about milled aluminum reciever, Hesse reciever, Century arms?

  The kick will be slightly less than a .30-'06 with the same weigh bullets and in a similar rifle. The .308 Win. is a very accurate cartridge but accuracy will depend on the rifle it is fired from.

  2k3- have you fired a 30-30? A .308 will kick something like that; sort of a quick slap. With repeated exposure; almost any rifle's recoil can be gotten used to. If you want, you can add a slip-on recoil pad.

  It would be fired from a Century Arms HK G3, 19.5" barrel.

  MY CENTURY ARMS G3 HAS ALWAYS BE A PLEASURE TO FIRE. THE RECOIL IS NOT AT ALL EXCESSIVE. I HAVE MOUNTED A FOUR X HENSHOT SURPLUS SCOPE, AND SHOOT WELL AT 100 YARDS

  It's sharp but not uncomfortable. It leaves you tenderized but not bruised[;)]

  I don't have a G3, but I have a CETME (functionally the same) and it doesn't kick enough to worry about.
