savage model 24

How does a person date the Savage model 24 22 over 410? Does anyone know what years they were manufactured? I have a couple with wood stocks and the barrel selector on the side. Any help will be appreciated.

  Why did they stop making one of their most popular models - the 22/410??? Who knows...

  I recently picked up a Savage Model 24 V-A. In 222/20 guage. I know the V is for varmit but I have no idea what the A is for. It's a nice little gun.

  I recently received a 24 series S I was wondering how much these are selling for. I also was wondering is it normal for the trigger to be loose before the hammer is pulled back.

  I bought one of these when they first came out around 1948 ,I was 14 years old.Brand new the gun cost $26.95 a dollar down a dollar a week until it was paid for.It had the plastic stock, it was called Tenite.
