shipping handguns and/ or longuns by an individual
I know this question has been asked before , but what are the requirements for a person to ship firearms to a FFL holder in another state??? I'm pretty sure that it is OK for long guns, but what about shipping handguns. Thanks....

I know there are more topics than this one listed... I don't think shipping is different for shipping handguns or long guns. The age to own them is different, maybe that's what you're thinking of.

you can ship long guns for less by using the Post Office , handguns to a dealer or law enforcement , please look it up to be sure , in the DMM available at any Post Office , much less then UPS or AirBorne express.....check it out............"C" 0 -

I believe that USMC is mistaken; handguns may not be shipped through USPS by nonlicensees, regardless of the recipient.
You should also know that both UPS & FEDEX require handguns to be shipped by Next Day Air, which is extremely expensive. FEDEX also requires that ANY firearm be "disabled". Both carriers discourage shipment by nonlicensees; the only way to get a gun accepted by them is to declare it as "Firearm for repair", even if what you are really doing is selling it.

bigdog1 - My response "yep" was not a smartass answer. Apparently you do not understand what "YEP" means. Most of the free world understands that this is an affirmative answer to a question. You asked a simple question "Can I ship a handgun across state lines?", and I gave you a very simple reply "Yep!".
I could have given you a smartass answer by saying: If you would take the time to read "How do I sell?" located under the big purple highlighted letters "New Users" you should have been able to figure it out for yourself, but I did not. Hello, Mr FFL here. Unfortunately most dealers will not accept a rifle or handgun to be shipped to them by anybody other than a FFL. You can attribute this to both ignorance and a fear of being sued by some scumbag lawyer. As a dealer they can choose to conduct their business as they see fit irregardless of the "legal parameters".
