Mil spec
I have been looking into an AR and I have narrowed it down to Olympic Arms prx 16, something like that and a Rock River arms tasc or tasp or something like that. Are they mil spec and where can I buy a RRA besides here I have not seen any places?

If you have a gun shop near buy ask them to order you a Rock River. If the dealer quotes you retail prices he's way high. The lowers on the Rock Rivers go for about $175 dealer cost, just to give you an idea. I got my Rock River LAR15 (16" Hbar w/fake telescopic stock) at dealer cost for $625. Expect to pay your local gun shop about $100 to $150 above dealer cost. He needs to make a profit to cover shipping & keeping the lights on.
I highly recommend the Rock River as I have one and it shoots/works great! Your local gunshop out to be able to get a catalog from them.

"If the dealer quotes you retail prices he's way high." What else would he quote? That's what dealers do. They retail firearms. You don't really think a dealer should sell you parts, etc. without making any money on it do you? 0 -
Sunray,
Also note I said:
"Expect to pay your local gun shop about $100 to $150 above dealer cost. He needs to make a profit to cover shipping & keeping the lights on."
Ever read shotgun news? Most dealers I know don't go by the retail prices. I'm sorry but I refuse to $350 for a $99 Spanish Mauser. Nor should you.

Neither one of those use milspec barrel steel.
I like and own many brands.and there is not much practical difference.
