Jason... Yes they will. The .38 special is just a little shorter than the .357 mag

Jason, LL is, of course, correct. Welcome to the forum! Sincere questions, no matter how elementary, are how we learn.

You can use .38 spl in any revolver marked .357 magnum. But don't use .357 magnum in a revolver marked .38 spl.[:D]

Only problem I found with my .357 Python in firing .38 spl.(specially
wadcutters) is that it gets a high lead buildup in the cylinder
and wont chamber a .357 round without a darn good cylinder cleaning.
I dont use much of the metal jacket as I do my own casting so maybe
metal jacket would be O.K. and not cause that problem. Would like
to know if anyone else has had this problem. I realize I can use
.357 cases with wadcutters, but my Star loader only takes .38 Spl.
and have to use the single stage "Rockchucker" for my .357 loading.

    joeaf,

I find cast .38 Special bullets foul up the cylinders of my .357 much more than jacketed. They also make more of a mess on the outside of the cylinder.

Gravedigger: Thanks for the input. I hate to put these damn
expensive jacketed bullets down range at cans and targets. Guess I
will just keep using a .41 cal brass brush and Hoppies on a slo-
speed batt. powered drill and clean the cylinder. I am not using soft
lead, only my own mix of Lyman #2 alloy. Lead, tin and type metal.
Tried all types of lube, even the hot lubes and all do the same
    thing.
