40 cal: Sig P229 vs H&K USP compact?

All opinions as to which 40 cal would be the better of the two would be appreciated.

  I own Sig's and like them alot. I prefer Sig to H&K no matter the Calibur. My 2 cents [8D]

  I am thinking heavily about the HK usp compact. It is a perfect fit in my mit and I like the way it looks. I would like to shoot one before I buy one though.

  ditto william81. They are both great pistols, but one will fit you better than the other. The sigs are thinner than the HK, so your build is a factor.

  HK is plastic. Get the SIG.

  Have a Sig 229, works flawlessly after over 100,000 rounds (worn a couple barrels out is all)...one of the best fighting guns ive owned.

  I can't really say how an HK pistol is because I have never owned or shot one, but the SIG I have has never failed me.
