Info Needed on Nuarmco M-15
Hi Folks!
This is my first post to this forum and board for that matter. Am hoping my time here will be fruitful and productive. I have a question I 've not been able to get an answer on for more then 7 years now. Several years back I acquired an AR-15 clone made by Nuarmco and marked M-15. It is a two digit serial number rifle, made of stainless with a sweet shooting bull barrel. Only other identification is S I N Y marked on left side of receiver under the Nuarmco name. I have been unable to find out any information on the company , where it was made or when. Any of the AR 15/M16 crowd have any information they could share? An enquiring mind wants to know. I have not heard that name in quite a few years! Nuarmco was a firearms dealer and importer located on 366 Main St., Stanton Island, New York (that is the meaning of the S I N Y on your receiver). I remember that they made an AR type lower during the early 1990's, but I have no idea how many were made.
The company drew a lot of attention in 1994 when they challeged an ATF ruling which denied them an import permit for 5 DEMILED cannons which they'd ordered (and paid for) from Isreal. Cannon number 1 made it in with no trouble but the other 4 were deined and the BATF claimed that the first cannon was allowed in out of policy and ordered it destroyed. Long story made short; Nuarmco won their law suit against the BATF but the legal fees were tremendous. I think the company folded up several years ago but I don't know this for sure. I am pretty sure that they are not in Stanton Island anymore and I know that they are no longer making AR lowers. I wish I could provide more info but this is all I can remember. I have never actaully seen a Nuarmco lower so they must be rather rare, maybe even collectable.
